- Micron, Intel, Marvell, AMD, and Sandisk are highlighted as top AI suppliers currently benefiting
- Chip stocks like Micron, Intel, and AMD saw significant gains in the second quarter

CNBC's Jim Cramer recently noted a shift in the AI trade on Wall Street, with a greater focus on companies supplying the artificial intelligence boom rather than tech giants funding it. While Cramer still holds several Magnificent Seven stocks, he believes that suppliers like Micron, Intel, Marvell, AMD, and Sandisk are currently in prime positions to benefit from the industry's significant spending cycle.

The second quarter saw an impressive rally in chip stocks, adding a total of $2 trillion in combined value to Micron, Intel, and AMD. Investors expanded their AI portfolios beyond Nvidia, with memory maker Micron leading the way with over 240% growth, followed by Intel with 216% and Advanced Micro Devices with 186% climbs.

AMD surged to a record high following a price target hike from Wells Fargo, increasing the target on the stock to $615 from $505. Analysts like Kevin Hincks and Tom White believe that Lisa Su's leadership at AMD has shifted focus from chasing NVIDIA to co-designing the next phase of AI infrastructure with them.

An analyst from Wells Fargo, Aaron Rakers, set a bullish outlook for AMD stock over the next 12 months as the company reached new all-time highs. Intel and AMD both saw a 7% jump in their stock prices as chip stocks caught a risk-on bid, with strong demand for big CPUs as the AI sector shifts from training to inference.

Despite being overshadowed by Nvidia in the past, AMD's stock saw a boost as Wells Fargo raised its price target to $615, citing increased demand for AI-driven CPU. The stock rose 2% in Tuesday's trading after closing the previous session 3.4% higher.

As the second quarter came to a close, investors had much to consider in the rapidly changing market. With AI-driven CPU demand on the rise, analysts remain bullish on AMD stock, predicting continued strength through the end of the decade. While Nvidia maintains a leading position in the AI chip market, AMD's stronghold in the CPU market makes it a compelling buy for investors.

Overall, the AI trade is undergoing a transformation, with companies like Micron, Intel, AMD, and others leading the charge as Wall Street shifts its focus towards AI suppliers rather than technology giants. With chip stocks experiencing historic gains and analysts bullish on the future of AI-driven CPUs, the industry shows no signs of slowing down.
