Open Correlations

See how any set of symbols move together, across the timeframes you actually trade.

Why it helps

  • Size correlation, don't guess it — Turns "these feel related" into a number you can act on.
  • Find genuine diversifiers — Surfaces the low- and negative-correlation names a sector screen hides.
  • Catch regime change — The same pair over 1M vs 1Y shows when a relationship has broken down.

How to use it

  1. Pick your symbols — Add tickers to the basket at the top — watchlists and index members load in one click.
  2. Choose the timeframe — Correlations are recomputed per window, so compare a short and a long window before concluding anything.
  3. Read the matrix — Deep colour is a strong relationship; near-white is independence. Negative values run the opposite way.
  4. Drill into a pair — Click any cell to chart the two series together and see where the relationship broke.

What's in it

  • Pairwise matrix — Every combination in the basket at once, not one pair at a time.
  • Multiple windows — 1M through 5Y, computed from adjusted closes.
  • Colour scale — Diverging scale centred on zero so sign reads at a glance.
  • CSV export — The full matrix, exactly as displayed.

FAQ

Why do two obviously-related names show a low number?
Correlation measures co-movement of returns, not price level. Two stocks can trend together for years and still have noisy day-to-day returns.
Which price does it use?
Adjusted closes, so splits and dividends do not create false moves.
