A number looks wrong

Before reporting it, three things explain most surprises:

1. Adjusted vs raw price — our series is adjusted, so historical closes differ from unadjusted sources.
2. Local currency — market cap and fundamentals for foreign listings are reported in the listing currency, not USD.
3. ETFs — an ETF carries assets under management in the market-cap field, which distorts any total you sum it into.
